Reading inspired by Anila Quayyum Agha’s “Intersections”

words & art readings

The Words & Art reading is an evening of poetry and prose that takes place in the gallery with the art as the stage.  The evening’s program is a selection of works written by local poets and writers in the Houston area.

Anyone can submit their writing to Words & Art to be a part of the reading. It is open to all ages and writing levels.  There have been adults, middle schoolers and the youngest featured reader was a 5th grader.  Experienced writers and beginners are all welcome.

The reading is also open to all writing forms: poetry, essay, short story, etc.  The reading has featured a short play, a lecture and even an experimental piece.

Words & Art is a unique series in that everyone is writing about the same work of art, we all start from the same place, but go in different directions depending on how we see the art.
